Keynote: l'intégrité scientifique
Bestor est particulièrement heureux d’accueillir le professeur Gert Storms (KU Leuven, Faculté de psychologie) comme conférencier principal lors de la neuvième édition des Young Researchers Days in Logic, Philosophy and History of Science. Le professeur Storms parlera de l’intégrité scientifique (et de son histoire), en mettant l’accent sur les violations de cette intégrité. Il abordera non seulement les affaires spectaculaires mais aussi les “pratiques discutables dans la recherche” et ce qu'ils nous enseignent sur la nature même de la science. Podcast DHST
La DHST a lancé une série de podcasts destinée à soutenir le développement professionnel des jeunes chercheurs — tout en offrant peut-être aussi des perspectives utiles aux chercheurs plus expérimentés. Chaque épisode propose des entretiens avec des spécialistes internationaux de l’histoire des sciences et des techniques, autour de sujets variés au cœur de la vie académique contemporaine : de la réalisation d'entretiens en histoire orale à la publication dans des revues scientifiques, en passant par la rédaction de propositions de livres convaincantes. Le 16 novembre 1935, Émile Francqui est décédé. Peu de personnes ont autant marqué la science belge que lui. Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, cet homme d’affaires ambitieux s’est mis à plaider pour un nouveau système de mécénat scientifique. Grâce à ses efforts, les universités belges ont collaboré pour la première fois à une politique scientifique commune. Après la guerre, il a développé un vaste réseau — jusqu’à la cour royale — et a fondé diverses organisations scientifiques et financières. En 1928, il a participé à la création du FNRS.
